The Single Market Enforcement Taskforce ( SMET) was set up in 2020 following the adoption of the Long term action plan for better implementation and enforcement of Single Market rules by the Commission and, the calls for further action on the single market by the European Council and the European Parliament.
It is jointly chaired by the Chair of the Eminent Advisory Board, Ms. Graça Machel, and AWEPA President, Ms. Miet Smet. The parliaments which AWEPA supports are its primary partners and this cooperation is normally laid down in a Memorandum of Understanding .
