Mike Seeger (August 15, 1933 – August 7, 2009) was an American folk musician and folklorist. He was a distinctive singer and an accomplished musician who played autoharp, banjo, fiddle, dulcimer, guitar, mouth harp, mandolin, dobro, jaw harp, and pan pipes.

Mike Seeger (Born: August 15, 1933 in New York City, New York Death: August 7, 2009 in Lexington, Virginia) was an American folk singer, musician (autoharp, banjo, fiddle, dulcimer, guitar, mouth harp, mandolin, dobro) and folklorist. Inducted into the IBMA Hall of Fame in 2018. And also The Bluegrass Hall of Fame. Received six Grammy nominations.
Biography. Although primarily known as a performer of old-time music, Mike Seeger had a profound impact on bluegrass music. As an engineer/producer, he recorded some of the first albums to be issued by bluegrass artists. He was also one of the first people to write about the music.
