Miss Porter's School ( MPS) is a private college preparatory school for girls founded in 1843 in Farmington, Connecticut. The school draws students from many of the fifty U.S. states, as well as from abroad. International students comprised 14% in the 2017–2018 year. The average class size was 10 students in 2017.

where we come from. The world is a different place than it was in 1843 when Sarah Porter first opened the doors of her schoolhouse. She was steadfast in her mission to educate young women. However, not all women were granted access to the school, denied on the basis of their race, religion, or socioeconomic status.
