12. Juni 2015 · LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress, singer and voice of the Chiquita Banana cartoon character Monica Lewis has died. Her former manager, Alan Eichler, says Lewis died Friday of natural causes at her home in the Los Angeles area. She was 93.
Monica Lewis is a versatile artist who sang for Benny Goodman, Ed Sullivan, Frank Sinatra and other celebrities. She also appeared in movies, TV shows and commercials. She shares her life story, from Depression-era Chicago to Hollywood glamour, in her book Hollywood Through My Eyes.
