Introduction: The Crystals are an American pop and R&B vocal group formed in New York, one of Phil Spector's stable of artists and also one of the most popular girl groups in the 60s music scene. The original lineup consisted of Barbara Alston, Mary Thomas, Dee Dee Kenniebrew, Myrna Giraud and Patsy Wright; the group.
The group was originally a quintet consisting of Barbara Alston (born 1945), Dee Dee Kennibrew (born 1945), Mary Thomas (born 1946), Patricia Wright, and Myrna Giraud, organized by Benny Wells while they were still in high school. Barbara, Mary and Myrna all went to high school together and graduated at the same time.

The group was discovered by legendary music impresario and poster-boy for girl groups, Phil Spector. Phil Spector eventually signed The Crystals to his record label, Philles Records in 1961.
