Nancy Swain Overton (born Anne Swain; February 6, 1926 – April 5, 2009) was an American pop singer and songwriter. Biography. Overton first formed a singing group with her sister Jean Swain and two college friends, Bix Brent and Pauli Skindlov in 1946.

Nancy Overton (February 6, 1926- April 5, 2009) joined the group for live performances in 1957 after Janet Ertel, who was more than a decade older than the other members of the group, decided to retire from touring, although Ertel continued to perform on recorded material.
Nachdem Lynn Evans 1990 aus dem Schuldienst ausgeschieden war, formierte sie mit Nancy Overton und zwei weiteren Sängerinnen die Chordettes neu. Ihr Debüt feierte die Gruppe in der Radio City Music Hall im Rahmen einer Nostalgieshow. Von 1991 bis 1995 machte die Gruppe zusammen mit Eddy Arnold mehrere Tourneen durch die USA.

She was 83 and lived in Hackettstown, N.J. The cause was esophageal cancer, her son Rick said.
