The New Lincoln School relocated in 1971, and a business associated with the school and located within the building closed just a year later. The building stood empty for another two years. 1976: Lincoln Correctional Facility. In 1974, the State Department of Corrections bought the building. In 1976, the Lincoln Correctional Facility was opened.

Mai 2017 · Columbia Teachers College in New York established the Lincoln School as a laboratory school for experimentation with progressive education methods and curricula.1 “The school was a potent institutionalization of new ideas in education.”2 Joining in the effort was John Dewey, often called the father of our modern educational system.
18. Feb. 2022 · The New Lincoln School was built in 1923 and was the fourth and final school built exclusively for African American children until 1943 when two Mothers teamed up with Trenton lawyer Robert Queen known for taking racism head on.
This would become the new home for the Lincoln School for the next three decades. In mid-1910’s, after years of active enrollment, the Lincoln School building began to deteriorate as the school began experiencing issues. In 1916 the Lafayette Royal Crescent Club conducted an investigation into the condition of the school.
