Nigel Allan Havers (born 6 November 1951) is an English actor and presenter. His film roles include Lord Andrew Lindsay in the 1981 British film Chariots of Fire , which earned him a BAFTA nomination; as Dr. Rawlins in the 1987 Steven Spielberg war drama Empire of the Sun ; and as Ronny in the 1984 David Lean epic A Passage to India .
So spielte er zwischen 1983 und 1990 den Arzt Dr. Latimer in der Serie Don’t Wait Up, 1997 bis 1999 stellte er Dr. Paige in Polizeiarzt Dangerfield dar. 2002 bis 2003 spielte er in zwei Staffeln der britischen Sitcom Manchild (auf deutsch: „Späte Jungs“).
Nigel Havers is one of Britain's best known actors, mainly for his many roles on television since the 1970s. He was born as the younger son of Michael Havers, QC, a Conservative MP for Wimbledon, Attorney General (1979-1987), and Lord High Chancellor of England (1987).
