Das dazugehörige Album Nightbirds auf Epic erhielt in den USA eine Goldauszeichnung. Die Nachfolger Phoenix (1975) und Chameleon (1976) konnten diesen Erfolg zwar nicht wiederholen, festigten aber den guten Ruf des Trios.

Phoenix is the fifth album by the American singing trio Labelle. The album was moderately successful, peaking at #44 on the pop charts and #10 on the R&B charts.
