Oakwood High School is a coeducational secondary school with academy status in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, which in 2022 had 1,052 students. [2] History. Oakwood began life as two separate single-sex 11–18 secondary technical schools.

  3. We are a highly successful school meeting the needs of all abilities across the 11-16 age range in a friendly, caring and hardworking environment. We are recognised locally and nationally for innovation, compassion and a determination to be the best we can be.

  4. As a result of this, the Oakwood boys’ and girls’ schools amalgamated and became simply Oakwood School on 1 February 1967. As part of the reforms, the school lost its sixth form to the new Thomas Rotherham College, which occupies the former Rotherham Grammar School’s buildings.

  5. Admissions. Starting in Year 7 in September 2025. Parents/Carers of Year 6 pupils will receive a letter and common application form from their primary school in early July 2024. Parents must complete the Rotherham Common Application Form and it should be returned to the Local Authority by 31 October 2024.
