The imagery of the expected samurai film is all here, it is a reverential work with obvious nods to classics of the genre. The correct choice is also made to have the voice acting be in Japanese. The narrative is very simple, a linear path to bloody success. But, gosh, is it bloody. The animation means you can't do much finesse.
