Pieter van den Hoogenband is a Dutch Olympic swimmer who won seven medals, including five golds, in the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Games. He set the world record for the 100 m freestyle in 2000 and won the European title in 2006. He also won the European title in the 200 m freestyle in 2006 and the 200 m freestyle in 2008.
