Pola X is the soundtrack album to Léos Carax's film of the same name composed, and produced by the American solo artist Scott Walker. The soundtrack also includes contributions from Smog, Sonic Youth, Fairuz, Nguyên Lê, and M. Luobin Wang. It was released on 17 May 1999. It was Walker's first full soundtrack.
Noel Scott Engel (January 9, 1943 – March 22, 2019), better known by his stage name Scott Walker, was an American-British singer-songwriter and record producer who resided in England. Walker was known for his emotive voice and his unorthodox stylistic path which took him from being a teen pop icon in the 1960s to an avant-garde musician from the 1980s to his death.

I was a fan of the late Scott Walker's music before becoming interested in Rammstein. I am super curious about how Till & Schneider came to work with Walker but I'm having a hard time tracking down information about the Pola X production overall - shooting locations, dates, etc..
Scott 3 and Scott 4 were dominated by his own compositions, and are sublime masterpieces that fully realize his dark vision. By this point, Walker had alienated most of his old fans, and after a few terrible easy listening cover albums in the 70s, he mostly withdrew, fading into obscurity.
