In 1988, Troutman made an appearance on Scritti Politti's third album Provision, providing talk box vocals on the songs "Boom There She Was" and "Sugar and Spice". Three years later, Troutman released his final solo album with Bridging the Gap , featuring the hit "Everybody (Get Up)".
27. Feb. 2023 · Roger Troutman left behind six sons and five daughters, per The Famous People. Fellow musicians sent flowers to the funeral, and in true Troutman family style, their nephew performed a talkbox version of "Amazing Grace" (via SF Weekly). The tragic 1999 killing of funk legend Roger Troutman shocked his family and fans.
