Die Pyramide ist eine Bauform, meist mit quadratischer Grundfläche, die aus unterschiedlichen alten Kulturen bekannt ist, wie Ägypten, Lateinamerika oder China. Pyramiden wurden vorwiegend als Gebäude mit religiösem und/oder zeremoniellem Charakter errichtet.

In der Antike muss der Anblick sogar noch faszinierender gewesen sein, denn damals waren sie mit schneeweißem, glänzendem Kalkstein umgeben. Die Pyramiden sind das einzige noch erhaltene der sieben antiken Weltwunder. Zu den Pyramiden gehören die Cheops-Pyramide, die Chephren-Pyramide und die Mykerinos-Pyramide.
