14. Jan. 2008 · Ray Hnatyshyn was the 24th and last governor general of Canada, serving from 1990 to 1995. He was a lawyer, lecturer, politician and a second-generation Canadian. He opened the grounds of Rideau Hall to the public, created the Governor General's Summer Concert Series and Summer Rock Concert, and hosted a rock concert on the grounds. He also created the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards and the Ramon John Hnatyshyn Award for Voluntarism in the Arts.
