The band produced three of Britain’s most influential rock guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds’ hit songs included ‘Shapes of Things’ and ‘Happenings Ten Years Time Ago.’.
The Yardbirds gehörten zur Speerspitze und den ganz frühen Bands der englischen Rhythm’n’Blues-Szene. Je nachdem, welchen Augenzeugen-Bericht man gerade liest (oder glaubt), waren in den frühen sechziger Jahren entweder die Rolling Stones, The Pretty Things, The Who oder eben The Yardbirds die wildeste und beste Live-Band jener Epoche.
