Richard William McIver ECA MLA (born August 28, 1958) is a Canadian politician who has represented Calgary-Hays in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta since 2012. A member of the United Conservative Party (UCP), McIver is the current minister of municipal affairs .
Biography. Ric McIver was sworn in as the Minister of Municipal Affairs on June 9, 2023. He previously served as the Minister of Transportation, Minister of Infrastructure, Minister of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour, and Minister of Municipal Affairs.
Ric McIver is a United Conservative Caucus member who has been elected four times in Calgary-Hays since 2012. He has served as Minister of Transportation, Infrastructure, Jobs, Skills, Training, and Labour and Municipal Affairs, and negotiated with the Tsuu T’ina Nation on the Calgary Ring Road.

Ric McIver is a four-term MLA and the current Minister of Municipal Affairs in Alberta. He has a long history of public service in Calgary, including City Council, Police Commission, Calgary Stampede and Tsuu T’ina negotiations.
