Richard Stone is a British economist who won the Nobel Prize in 1984 for his contributions to the analysis of national income and expenditure. He was born in London in 1913, studied economics at Cambridge and worked for the Ministry of Economic Warfare during World War II. He also co-authored the first official estimates of national income and expenditure in the UK and Canada.
