  3. Jerry Jeff Walker (born Ronald Clyde Crosby; March 16, 1942 – October 23, 2020) was an American country and folk singer-songwriter. He was a leading figure in the progressive country and outlaw country music movement. He was best known for having written the 1968 song "Mr. Bojangles".

  6. Jerry Jeff Walker is an excellent song writer. He wrote "Mr. Bojangles" for starters, a song that automatically puts him into Stephen Foster or even Bob Dylan territory in terms of writers of great American music. On _Ridin' High_ though, he only offers two originals.
