Rising Sons was an American, Los Angeles, California-based blues rock and folk music band, which was founded in 1965. Their initial career was short-lived, but the group found retrospective fame for launching the careers of singer Taj Mahal and guitarist Ry Cooder .

Rising Sons was a five-piece band of which Cooder & Mahal were prominent members from inception in '64 to disbanding in '66. The "Featuring" on this release is mainly due to their later success in their solo careers and their popularity in the early '90s, when this collection was released.
Zwei Jahre arbeiteten die Rising Sons an ihrem Programm. Seit 2018 spielen sie vor allem in Leipzig auf verschiedenen Bühnen. Die durchweg positive Resonanz motiviert sie weiter zu machen und den nächsten Schritt zu wagen. Sie gingen im Herbst 2019 ins Studio und nahmen ihr erstes Album auf. Ihr Debut erschien im Sommer 2020. Der Name: "Dear Rock´N´Roll"
