Robert Antoni (born 1958) is a West Indian writer who was awarded the 1999 Aga Khan Prize for Fiction by The Paris Review for My Grandmother's Tale of How Crab-o Lost His Head. He is a Guggenheim Fellow for 2010 for his work on the historical novel As Flies to Whatless Boys. [1] Early life.

Robert Antoni is a Trinidadian-born novelist and short-story writer who explores the British West Indies in his fiction. He is a Guggenheim Fellow and the author of four books, including As Flies to Whatless Boys, a historical novel about his family's utopian experiment in Trinidad.
Antoni's work has been translated into five languages. He holds an MA from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University, an MFA and PhD from the Writers Workshop at the University of Iowa. Antoni has taught in writing programs across the United States, and he presently teaches in the Pan-European MFA for Creative Writing, with alternating residencies in Barcelona, Vienna, and Dublin.
