Friedrich Robert Donat war ein britischer Theater- und Filmschauspieler. Seine wohl bedeutendsten Filmrollen spielte er im Hitchcock-Thriller Die 39 Stufen sowie in Auf Wiedersehen, Mr. Chips, für letzteren Film gewann er 1940 den Oscar als bester Hauptdarsteller.
Friedrich Robert Donat (18 March 1905 – 9 June 1958) was an English actor. He is best remembered for his roles in Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps (1935) and Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939), winning for the latter the Academy Award for Best Actor.
Robert Donat was a British actor who overcame a stammer and asthma to become a star of stage and screen. He won an Oscar for Goodbye, Mr. Chips and worked with Hitchcock, Korda and Reed, but died young after The Inn of the Sixth Happiness.

28. März 2017 · Robert Donat was a British actor who won the Best Actor Oscar for his role in "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" in 1939, beating Clark Gable. He was a star in England before coming to Hollywood, where he worked with Hitchcock and Korda. He died of a brain tumor in 1958, at the age of 53.
