- Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin kam 1968 als ‚Supergroup‘ zusammen, gegründet vom ehemaligen Yardbirds-Gitarristen Jimmy Page. Ursprünglich sollten sie The New Yardbirds heißen, bis Keith Moon, der Drummer von The Who, in einem Kommentar äußerte, dass die Band wie ein bleierner Zeppelin (Lead Zeppelin) untergehen würde.
- The Eagles. Die amerikanische Rockband The Eagles wurde 1971 in Kalifornien von Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon und Randy Meisner gegründet. Die Eagles ritten auf der gerade erst aufkommenden Welle des Country-Rock und waren ein sofortiger Erfolg, der von zwei großen Singles getragen wurde: „Witchy Woman“ und „Take It Easy“.
- Rolling Stones. Die Rolling Stones, eine der erfolgreichsten und von der Kritik gefeierten Rockbands aller Zeiten, wurden 1962 in London gegründet. Benannt nach dem Muddy Waters-Song „Rollin‘ Stone“ bestand die ursprüngliche Band aus Frontmann Mick Jagger, den Gitarristen Keith Richards und Brian Jones, dem Bassisten Bill Wyman, dem Schlagzeuger Charlie Watts und dem Pianisten Ian Stewart.
