9. Juli 2017 · Rodman C. Rockefeller, the eldest son of Nelson A. Rockefeller, who was active in efforts that led to the North American Free Trade Agreement and in forging closer ties between the United States and Latin America, died on Sunday night at his home on the East Side of Manhattan. He was 68 and also had a home in the Pocantico Hills section of Tarrytown, N.Y. The cause was cancer.

Rodman Clark Rockefeller (May 2, 1932 – May 14, 2000) was an American businessman and philanthropist. He was a son of former U.S. Vice President Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller as well as a grandson of American financer John D. Rockefeller Jr. and a great-grandson of Standard Oil co-founder John D. Rockefeller.
Rodman C. Rockefeller was co-chairman of the Mexico-U.S. Business Committee. As president (1968-1972) and chief executive (1972-1980) of International Basic Economy Corporation, and chairman of it's successor IBEC Inc., from 1980-1985, Rockefeller was involved with genetic engineering and agribusiness in Mexico, and worked to build closer economic ties between the United States and Latin America.
