Mai 2012 · Ringo at his recent Liverpool Empire gig name checked Rory Storm and the Hurricanes before he launched into “Boys” a song he sung with both the Hurricanes and the Beatles he even sang about Rory in his Liverpool Capital of Culture song “Liverpool 8”. Ringo clearly remains very proud of his time with the Hurricanes and rightly so.

Despite changing the name from The Texans, Rory Storm (real name Alan Caldwell) was obviously still fond of the numerous Western series on television. He decided to call guitarist John Byrne "Johnny Guitar", after the title of the 1954 Joan Crawford Western. Ritchie the drummer became "Ringo Starr" (after Belle Starr) and Charles O'Brien was renamed "Ty"
