    The first season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs The World was officially announced by World of Wonder on December 21, 2021. It was announced that nine queens from around the Drag Race franchise would compete in the series, with the UK being the debut host nation.

    On January 17, 2022, the cast was revealed, with 9 contestants from across the Drag Race franchise with a theme of Glamazon Warrior. Nations featured in the debut season include Canada, the United Kingdom, The Netherlands, the United States, and Thailand.

    The first-ever Queen of the Mothertucking World was Blu Hydrangea, while Mo Heart placed as a runner-up and Baga Chipz and Jujubee placed 3rd/4th. Blu won a crown and scepter from Fierce! Drag Jewels and an all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood to record a duet with RuPaul.

    In April 2023, it was announced that Jimbo will be returning to compete on All Stars 8, where she would go on to win the season.

In a celebration of “all things RuPaul” the queens must serve three looks on the runway - including an outfit they must create from scratch that Mama Ru herself would want to wear. Bafta winning comedy star Daisy May Cooper joins the judging panel as another queen sashays away. The fierce international Drag Race competition continues, and this week it’s the RuPaul Ball! In a celebration of all things RuPaul, the queens must serve three looks on the runway, including an outfit they must create from scratch that Mama Ru herself would want to wear.
