Johnson was born in Ashley, Pennsylvania, on November 10, 1924, [1] [2] to Russell Kennedy Johnson (1901–1932) and Marion Wenonah Smink Johnson (1902–1976).
Russell Johnson (1924-2014) was a versatile actor who appeared in Westerns, Sci-Fi, and comedy shows. He was also a World War II veteran who flew 44 combat missions and received the Purple Heart.
