Cozy Powell (* 29. Dezember 1947 in Cirencester, England; † 5. April 1998 in Bristol, England, bürgerlich Colin Flooks) war ein britischer Schlagzeuger, der vor allem in Hardrock - und Heavy-Metal - Bands wie z. B. Rainbow und The Michael Schenker Group spielte.

Cozy Powell (born Colin Trevor Flooks; 29 December 1947 – 5 April 1998) was an English drummer who made his name with major rock bands and artists such as The Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Gary Moore, Graham Bonnet, Brian May, Whitesnake, Emerson, Lake & Powell, and Black Sabbath.
5. Apr. 2024 · Cozy Powell was one of rock’s greatest and most travelled drummers, playing with the likes of Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Peter Green, Brian May, the reunited ELP and countless others. He sadly died in a car accident on April 5, 1999, at the age of 50.

April 1998 verliert die Rockwelt einen echten Donnergott: An diesem Tag stirbt Cozy Powell auf der britischen Autobahn M4 in der Nähe von Bristol, als er mit seinem Auto in eine Mittelleitplanke kracht.
