Samuel Ernest Wright (November 20, 1946 – May 24, 2021) [1] was an American actor and singer. He was best known as the voice of Sebastian in Disney 's The Little Mermaid, for which he provided the lead vocals to "Under the Sea", [2] which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Samuel E. Wright was an African-American actor and singer who voiced Sebastian the Crab in Disney's The Little Mermaid franchise and Kron the Iguanodon in Dinosaur. He also played Mufasa in the original Broadway run of The Lion King and died in 2021 of prostate cancer.
