Nearly three years into the COVID-19 pandemic, global suffering continues despite heroic efforts by our healthcare workers, private citizens, institutions, organizations, countries, and economies. Throughout, it has remained a fact that no one country acting alone can stop the virus.
1. Aug. 2023 · This pandemic we all know has claimed more than 200 – more than 20 million lives, including over 1 million here at home. The U.S. economy has lost trillions of dollars, and even more so across the world. As Secretary Blinken noted, COVID-19 highlighted the imperatives for a coordinated USG response to stop health security threats.

Feb. 2023 · A year after launching the COVID-19 Global Action Plan (GAP), Secretary Blinken will host a fourth and final Ministerial on February 8 to conclude the work of the GAP focused on the acute needs of the pandemic, identify remaining barriers, and look towards the future to promote collaboration on preventing, detecting, and responding to the next global health threat.
