The whole soundtrack is filled with funky goodness, but the theme song remains the most iconic.

I now like a lot of the "mellow" music of 1971 as much as the hard rock of deep purple etc etc. One record I discovered in February 1971 was this famous one by Marvin Gaye (who I hadn't heard of until then). Was turned on to it by a teenage record store clerk (a girl) who was just a couple years older than me.
