Dame Shirley Anne Pearce DBE (born February 1954) is a British academic and psychologist. She is Chair of Court and Council [1] at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a member of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Panel for the Ministry of Education (Singapore) .
Dame Shirley Ida Conran [1] DBE ( née Pearce; 1932–2024) was a British author, designer, journalist and social entrepreneur . After her marriage to Terence Conran with whom she worked as a designer and sales director at Conran Fabrics, she became women's editor of The Observe r and the Daily Mail, launching its Femail section.
