Skid Roper (born Richard Banke, October 19, 1954, in National City, California, United States) is an American musician, most active in the 1980s and early 1990s. He has recorded with several groups including the surf band The Evasions but is best known for his work with Mojo Nixon between 1985 and 1989. [2]
Zurück in Kalifornien, formierte sich Nixon mit Skid Roper zum Duo. Bis 1989 – über vier Alben und mehrere EPs – spielten die beiden unter der Bezeichnung Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper. Während Nixon den Frontpart mit Texten, expressivem Gesang sowie Gitarre übernahm, hielt sich der Multiinstrumentalist Roper eher im Hintergrund.
Neill Kirby McMillan Jr. was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, on August 2, 1957. [2] [3] He paired with Skid Roper in the early 1980s in San Diego. Roper mostly provided instrumental backup to Nixon's lyrics. Nixon and Roper released their first album in 1985 on Enigma Records, Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper.
