In 1988, Haig financed the recording of a new album himself, once more produced with Alan Rankine, and eventually issued by Virgin offshoot Circa Records in May of the following year. The title track of Chain was co-written with Billy Mackenzie, while lead single "Something Good" remains a fan favourite.
