Sorrell and Son is a British television miniseries which aired on ITV in six, hour-long episodes from 6 to 11 July 1984. The story is taken from the 1925 novel of the same name by Warwick Deeping. The story was previously filmed as a silent film in 1927 and again in 1934.

Abandoned by his greedy wife and now solely responsible for his 13 year-old son Kit, Sorrell relocates to Staunton in April 1921 only to find that his prospective employer has died that very morning.
This six-part miniseries from Yorkshire Television begins during Britain’s economic slump after World War I and revolves around decorated war hero Stephen Sorrell (Richard Pasco) who is raising his 11-year-old son, Kit (Peter Chelsom) single-handedly after his wife, Dora (Gwen Watford) deserts her husband and child in the boy’s infancy.
