Peter Clark Erskine (* 5. Juni 1954 in Somers Point, New Jersey) ist ein US-amerikanischer Jazz - Schlagzeuger. Er gilt als einer der vielseitigsten und meistbeschäftigten Jazzdrummer der letzten Jahrzehnte. Bekannt wurde er als Mitglied von Weather Report, wo er von 1978 bis 1982 spielte.

Peter Erskine has played the drums since the age of four and is known for his versatility and love of working in different musical contexts. He appears on 700 albums and film scores, and has won two Grammy Awards, plus an Honorary Doctorate from the Berklee School of Music (1992).
StAR is an album by Norwegian saxophonist Jan Garbarek recorded in January 1991 and released on the ECM October later that year. The trio features Miroslav Vitouš—who wrote most of the album—and Peter Erskine.
