Karla Bonoff – Bio Karla Bonoff was born on 27th December 1952 in Santa Monica, California and has one sibling, Lisa, a sister who is three-years older. The daughter of radiologist Dr. Chester Paul Bonoff and his wife Shirley Kahane [d. 1991] Karla was raised in West Los Angeles and went on to attended University High School.

Biography. Born and raised in Southern California, Karla Bonoff was a songwriter by the age of fifteen. She and her sister Lisa were writing songs and playing as a duo titled "The Daughters of Chester P" named after their father, Dr. Chester Paul Bonoff.
