Steven William Prestwich (5 March 1954 – 16 January 2011) was an English-born Australian drummer, guitarist, singer and songwriter. After relocating from Liverpool , Prestwich was the founding and long-term drummer for the band Cold Chisel , which formed in Adelaide in 1973.

Cold Chisel are an Australian pub rock band, which formed in Adelaide in 1973 by mainstay members Ian Moss on guitar and vocals, Steve Prestwich on drums and Don Walker on piano and keyboards. They were soon joined by Jimmy Barnes (at the time known as Jim Barnes) on lead vocals and, in 1975, Phil Small became their bass guitarist.

17. Jan. 2011 · Cold Chisel drummer Steve Prestwich died on Sunday from a brain tumour at the age of 56, with Sherbert guitarist Harvey James also losing his battle with cancer on Saturday night. Steve's brother Simon confirmed to the Daily Telegraph's Undercover that Steve passed away on Sunday at around 3.30pm.
