Historic Steyning, nestling against the inspiring landscape of the South Downs, is well known as one of the most picturesque towns in Sussex. The town of Saint Cuthman (c750AD), Steyning is rich in history, with scores of timber-framed buildings in and around the ancient High Street, and its excellent museum.
Steyning and the surrounding villages are nestled in a stunning area of West Sussex, 10 miles from Brighton, 4 miles from the coast and in the heart of the South Downs. Visitors can wander through the picturesque historic high streets to explore independent shops, stop to have a drink or bite to eat, or wander further onto the South Downs Way.

Steyning is a small town surrounded by the South Downs, just 6 miles from Shoreham-by-Sea, 8 miles from Worthing, 12 miles from Brighton and 13 miles from Horsham. Sadly, as with most other small villages and towns there is no longer a railway service, the closest being at Shoreham-by-Sea.
