Taylor Locke is a multi-talented artist who plays the lead guitar in the band Rooney and has appeared in several films and TV shows. He was born in Los Angeles in 1984 and has also worked as a composer and writer for his own projects and others.

Rooney first formed as Ed Rooney in 1999. The original lineup consisted of Robert Schwartzman, Matthew Winter on bass, Teddy Briggs on drums, and Matthew Star (née Srolestar) and Taylor Locke on guitar. Ned Brower replaced Briggs as drummer and Louie Stephens was added as keyboardist.

Feb. 2015 · Taylor Locke, the former Rooney guitarist, has released a stream of his debut solo album Time Stands Still. “I think the term ‘singer-songwriter’ sadly evokes a white guy in a coffee shop strumming a fucking G-chord all day,” says Locke. “I think this record sounds more like a band record… the band just takes occasional smoke breaks.”
