Thrice is an American rock band from Irvine, California, formed in 1998. The group was founded by guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue and lead guitarist Teppei Teranishi while they were in high school.

Thrice wurde 1998 von den damals 17-jährigen Dustin Kensrue (Gitarre, Gesang) und Teppei Teranishi (Gitarre) während ihrer High-School-Zeit gegründet. Teppei verpflichtete seinen Skater-Freund Eddie Breckenridge für die Bassgitarre, der wiederum seinen Bruder Riley (Schlagzeug) mitbrachte.

As of writing this article, it’s been almost five years since the release of their last album, Major/Minor. The album was followed by a farewell tour through 2012 that culminated with the band going on indefinite hiatus.
