Texas Tornado is the second solo album by Doug Sahm, released by Atlantic Records in December 1973. Sahm co-produced the album with Jerry Wexler and Arif Mardin . Wexler signed Sahm to Atlantic records after the opening of the label's country music division.

Doug Sahm – lead vocals, guitar, piano. Augie Meyers – organ. Jim Stallings (aka JJ Light) – bass, vocals. Frank Morin – saxophone, tambourine. Martin Fierro – saxophone, percussion. Johnny Perez – drums. Recorded September 1971 at Doug Weston’s Troubadour in Los Angeles, California (soundcheck rehearsal with audience).
In 1989, Sahm formed the supergroup the Texas Tornados with fellow Tex-Mex musicians Augie Meyers, Freddy Fender and Flaco Jiménez. The Texas Tornados toured successfully, and one of their releases earned a Grammy Award. In 1999, Sahm died during a vacation trip. A posthumous album, The Return of Wayne Douglas, was released in 2000.
