While we are lingering with this monologue, I don't think it is fanciful to imagine, as I hinted before, a twinkle in Ellington's eye as he twisted the normal iambic accentuation of the word »eclipse,« to make it distinctly an African- Amer- ican sounding trochee: »E-clipse.«. Yes- he's telling us, »Watch that title!«.
