Othello is a full, evening-length ballet created jointly by Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, American Ballet Theatre and San Francisco Ballet. It tells the tale of Moorish general, Othello. Through the jealous lies and deceit of his closest friend, Iago, he is led to believe that his wife, Desdemona, is unfaithful.
Othello ( / ɒˈθɛloʊ /; full title: The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice) is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, around 1603. The story revolves around two characters, Othello and Iago . Othello is a Moorish military commander who was serving as a general of the Venetian army in defence of Cyprus against invasion by Ottoman Turks.
