The Contours is one of the early American soul singing groups signed to Motown Records. The group is best known for its classic chart-topping 1962 hit, " Do You Love Me ", which sold over 1 million copies and became a major hit again in 1988.
The Contours war eine amerikanische Gesangsgruppe, die 1958 in Detroit gegründet wurde. They have appeared on American Bandstand, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Montel Williams Show, The Dick Clark Show, PBS's Rock, Rhythm & Doo Wop and PBS's Motown: The Early Years and a variety of local television.
The 2011 set Dance With The Contours, covers recordings from 1963-1964, aspiring in part to recreate the unrealized second LP. A 2014 disc, A Little Misunderstanding, tackles tracks from 1965-1968, including material that might have formed a later LP. In 2015, the Contours are inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame.
