The Kingston Trio. 12 songs • 30 minutes The Kingston Trio is the Kingston Trio's debut album, released in 1958. It entered the album charts in late October 1958, where it resided for nearly four years, spending one week at #1 in early 1959. It was awarded an RIAA gold album on January 19, 1961.
US folk group formed in 1957. Disbanded in 1967. Bob Shane revived the group in 1969 (the only original member at the time). Nick Reynolds, another of the originals, re-joined from 1988 to 1999. Having gone through many iterations the group is still performing, though none of the original members are in the line-up as they have all passed on.
