23. Aug. 2021 · The Manila Hostage Crisis, also known as the Rizal Park hostage-taking incident, has lasted nine hours on August 23, 2010. From morning to night, it had the attention of nearly every watchful eye that day. The perpetrator was Rolando Mendoza, a 55 ex-officer at the time, whose only demand was for him to have a fair hearing to defend himself.
Motive. Alleged corruption and labor practice of the hostage taker's former employer. On March 2, 2020, 40-year-old Archie Paray, who worked as a security guard at the Greenhills shopping mall complex in Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila, the Philippines, took 55 people hostage at the administration office on the second floor of the Virra Mall.
