Cooper (James Fenimore Cooper, *15.09.1789, †14.09.1851) legte den Grundstein für die Lederstrumpf -Reihe vor über 200 Jahren. Zusammengekommen sind seitdem fünf Bände. Los ging es mit der Buchreihe bereits im Jahr 1823 und im Jahr 1846 kam dann der vorerst letzte Teil in die Geschäfte.
