1. Aug. 1998 · Overview. Based on a true story, set in the late 19th century: Lord Tichborne, the ninth richest nobleman in England, disappears after a South American shipwreck. Some years later his erudite Afro-English valet, Bogle, is sent to investigate rumors that Tichborne survived and settled in Australia.
Synopsis. When a rich British aristocrat disappears off the coast of Australia in 1866, his servant Bogle is dispatched. With Lord Tichborne nowhere to be found and realising that he will be refused a return home unless in the company of his master, Bogle desperately attempts to mould a vulgar peasant into a Tichborne double.
